The best way to search an Indiana court docket is through MyCase Indiana. This free tool covers most trial courts in the state. Not every county is on MyCase yet, but most are. The Indiana Office of Judicial Administration manages the whole system from Indianapolis.

When you find a case on MyCase, click it to see the full docket sheet. Each line on the docket lists a date, the action taken, and who filed it. Common entries include complaint filed, answer filed, motion to dismiss, hearing set, and order issued. The sheet gives you a full timeline of everything that has happened in the case.

Indiana courts handle many types of cases. Each one has its own court docket. Civil cases cover lawsuits, contract disputes, and small claims. Searching court docket records on MyCase costs nothing. You can look up any public case and read the full docket for free. Fees only come into play when you want paper or certified copies. Under IC 33-37-4, most Indiana clerks charge $1.00 per page for plain copies. Certified copies add about $5.00 per document. Some counties accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Others stick to cash or money orders only.

If you think a fee is too high, IC 5-14-3-8 sets the cap on what agencies can charge for public records in Indiana. You can file a complaint with the Indiana Public Access Counselor if a clerk overcharges you.
