Under IC 5-14-3, court docket records in Grant County are open to the public with limited exceptions. The clerk must provide access to any record that is not sealed or otherwise restricted by law. Grant County Court Docket Fees

Copy fees for Grant County court docket records follow the statewide schedule under IC 33-37-4. Standard copies are $1.00 per page. Certified copies cost more, with an additional fee per document. You pay at the clerk's office when you pick up the copies, or you can mail in a request with payment included.

Some docket documents can be viewed for free on MyCase. If a document is available electronically, you can view or save it from the portal without paying anything. Not every document is uploaded, though. Many older filings and some restricted documents are only available in paper form at the courthouse in Marion.

Restricted Court Docket Access

Certain Grant County court docket records are sealed or restricted. Administrative Rule 9 gives judges the authority to seal records when needed. Sealed cases will not show up on MyCase. They also will not be available at the clerk's window. Juvenile case records are restricted under IC 31-39-2, which limits public access to most cases involving minors.

Expunged records are a separate category entirely. Under IC 35-38-9, an expunged Grant County case is erased from public view.
