Miami County Docket Search Online
The MyCase Indiana portal is the primary tool for searching Miami County court docket records. It costs nothing. Enter a name or case number, select Miami County, and the system pulls results from the Circuit Court and both Superior Court divisions. Understanding Miami County Docket Entries
A court docket in Miami County is a log of every action taken in a case. It starts with the initial filing and tracks through every step. When someone files a motion, that gets logged. When the court sets a hearing, the date appears on the docket. Orders, judgments, and continuances all show up in sequence. By reading the docket from top to bottom, you get a complete picture of where a case stands and what has happened along the way.
Civil dockets track lawsuits, contract disputes, and property matters. Criminal dockets log charges, bond information, plea hearings, and sentencing. Family dockets cover divorce, custody, and support. Probate dockets handle estates and guardianships. The Odyssey Case Management System captures all of this data automatically as filings come in and as judges take action on cases.

Sealed and Restricted Docket Records
Some Miami County docket records are restricted. Administrative Rule 9 gives judges the authority to seal case records when the circumstances warrant it. Sealed cases will not appear in MyCase or be available at the clerk's office. Juvenile cases are protected under IC 31-39-2, which limits public access to most records involving minors.
Expungement is another reason records might not show up. Under IC 35-38-9, individuals can ask a court to remove their criminal record from public view. If a Miami County judge grants expungement, the docket entries disappear from both the online system and the physical files at the courthouse. The Indiana Courts website explains eligibility and the process for filing an expungement petition.
Older Records in Miami County
The Odyssey system covers recent years, but older Miami County cases may not be in the digital database. If you need docket information from a case that predates the system, contact the clerk's office directly at (765) 472-3901. The courthouse has paper records going back many years. The staff can search their index and pull up docket sheets from cases that never made it into the online system.
Bringing as much information as possible helps. A case number is ideal. If you do not have one, provide the full name of a party and an approximate time frame. The clerk can work from there to find the right file.
