You can search LaPorte County court docket records for free through the MyCase Indiana portal. Enter a name, case number, or attorney name and the system pulls up matching cases from the LaPorte Circuit Court and all four LaPorte Superior Courts. The MyCase system works well for most current and recent cases. It is available 24 hours a day, so you can search at any time without waiting for the clerk's office to open. If your search does not return what you need, the case may be too old for the digital system or it may have been sealed. Court Docket Records in LaPorte County

LaPorte County has five courts that produce docket records. The LaPorte Circuit Court is led by Judge Thomas T. Alevizos. There are also four Superior Court divisions that handle different types of cases. Together, these courts manage civil, criminal, family, and probate matters for the entire county. Each court creates its own docket entries that get logged in the Odyssey system.

A court docket is just a record of what has happened in a case. It starts with the initial filing. After that, every motion, brief, order, and ruling gets an entry. Scheduled hearings appear on the docket too, along with continuances and status changes. The docket gives you a complete picture of where a case stands at any point. If you are a party to a case or just a member of the public looking up information, the docket is the place to start. Indiana Administrative Rule 9 controls what portions of court records can be accessed publicly and what must stay confidential.
